The Neuroscience Behind Transformational Leaders

Do you have a history of leading successful transformation and change? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are partnering with leading thinkers in the space of change leadership, researching the link between neurophysiology and one’s ability to lead change effectively.

Our aim is to identify a select group of outstanding 'Star' Leaders to explore whether there is a neurophysiological explanation for their star abilities in leading successful change.

As many organisations may know, most change initiatives fail. It is becoming common knowledge that even when the change progress is managed according to thoughtfully orchestrated plans (such as Kotter's approach to change), if the people are not willing to follow, then the change initiative fails. Newer thinking such as that of Manfred Kets de Vries and his collaborators, takes a further step in identifying the importance to marry the systems approach with the psychological approach of understanding and managing the impact change has on the individuals that need to go through it. Our research goes further, exploring how our brain’s physiology can enable a person’s ability to lead change and what can be done, if anything, to improve that.

How to take part in our research study:

If you are a 'Star' Leader with a successful track record in transforming and adapting systems and organisations, then we want to hear from you. To participate please click here to complete our short on-line questionnaire. Individuals may then be selected to participate in a follow-up interview to better understand their approaches to change. Findings from the questionnaires and interviews may culminate in case studies that will be featured in our research publications.

This is an on-going piece of research, and the findings will help shape the study’s future direction and subsequent neuroscience research. If you have any questions please contact us today.
