Our Brains Are Changing

For many years, it was believed that the brain could only change in early childhood during the 'critical period', and would remain fixed after this period. However, it is now widely accepted that our brains can continue to change physiologically - as a directly result of one's experience - even well into our later adult years. The brain's ability to change is known as 'neuroplasticity'.
