Habits can be hard to break

Human beings are creatures of habit, all too happy to slip into familiar and routine modes of behaviour. If we are comfortable to follow the same patterns of thinking and behaving day in, day out, it is because these patterns have become ingrained in our mind over long periods of time. These learned behaviours can sometimes be useful, enabling us to solve the type of problems that we encounter on a daily basis. On the other hand, we can become stuck in a pattern of thinking
and acting which is inefficient or unhelpful and which holds us back from achieving our full potential.
